The dry still cold is okay, I can do that but when the wind picks up it just goes right through you! The water buckets have been frozen over each morning. The water hoses froze so I am hauling water. It’s not bad but I see insulated waters in my future. We are watering 3 times a day to make sure the horses have fresh water and hopefully not popsicle temp
and they will drink good during this cold snap. The snow has not amounted to much up to this point. Promised almost 8 inches it did not happen but right now its warm enough for it to be rain but temps are heading down so crossing fingers we don’t have an ice rink outside tomorrow morning.
Light situation in the barn is getting better. I still need to add a light by the last stall but the weather halted those projects. Hopefully the roads will be clear and we can get to the store this weekend. Horses seem content I just really dislike cleaning stalls in semi darkness. This time of year is the hardest. So little daylight is available when I am home. That makes watering/feeding/cleaning at 5 am and then doing it again when I get home after 5pm
I see a pattern here.
