With a break in the rain the horses were turned out on Saturday at the BBQ to let them exercise and get away from the people
Nanse sure had fun stretching his legs and aftwards rolling until he was very dirty and proud of it

Since I upgraded the software now to try a new feature…This entry came from my phone! Cool!
I kept ignoring a little message about upgrading my blog software, then I became horribly out of date and could not take advantage of new cool stuff ..duh! Okay, Okay.. I get it.. I deal in software all day long. That’s why I ignored upgrading
Tackled the task and it’s got a fresh new look and now I can play with the cool toys that I hope you won’t see and only enjoy the updated blog.
Now I know how the bottom of Terran’s cage gets so soaking wet. Seems he has new diversion… trying to pick up and toss his water bowl. Does a pretty fair job of it too. By the time I get home the bowls not in the holder and the bottom of the cage is soaking wet! Tonight he is shamless about the whole process and the whole time he’s working away on dumping the water I hear him say NO! He’s even beating me to the scolding.
The newest peeps to the brood are now over 8 weeks old and they really enjoy a game of run and tag in the barn. Over the weekend I could hear them but not see them…. because they went upstairs into the hay loft, hopped right up the stairs and had a field day playing on all the stuff and then taking a nice snooze in the sunshine. It was not easy convincing them to go back down the stairs. Today when I got home I could hear the plaintive peeping of a young hen not with her buddies. Went on a search and could find nothing but was just sure the sound was coming from an empty stall that has a few items taking up storage space. Looking, poking and nothing… leave and hear a noise again.. go back, the only thing I had not looked “under” was a garbage can lid(it’s not tall) and sure enough when I picked it up a very unhappy hen was underneath it. Seemed a little disoriented at first but soon got her legs and off she shot to tell her friends all about her horrible ordeal under the lid and why did they not come to her rescue when she called them. It’s the brown hen in the pic to the left. I am now calibrating the heat in my new incubator. Eggs from the Brabanters should be going in by the weekend. I would be ahead of the game if hubby had not helped and turned OFF my incubator… UGH! Lost two days of testing and temps. Starting over.
